Most egg cookers will either poach or boil eggs. You put the eggs in the holders and add the appropriate amount of water. It’s the amount of water that determines if your eggs are soft-, medium- or hard-boiled. And then you push the “On” button and your eggs are done in a few minutes. You’re free to go shower or make the coffee. These egg cookers are pretty fool-proof. Very little experimentation is needed to cook eggs just the way you like them. Most of these automatic egg cookers have a non-stick surface. One think you need to remember to do, is to pierce the shell to prevent the shell from cracking and to keep the yolks a nice yellow.
